Update from Destination Asia Singapore

Singapore's Beloved National Monuments

Celebrate Singapore's 50th Birthday with Destination Asia Singapore’s newly designed ‘Our Beloved Monuments’ concept program. This celebration of Singapore’s fascinating heritage explores many national monuments of historical and architectural importance for the nation. We visit, touch, explore and interact with a series of architectural wonders including the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, constructed between 1843 and 1847, now the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Singapore.

Next on the list is the Former Keng Teck Whay - the only surviving Peranakan (Straits Chinese) ancestral temple and clan hall. Today, the Former Keng Teck Whay is occupied by the Taoist Mission of Singapore. We also visit Sri Mariamman Temple - the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore; and Sultan Mosque, an icon of the historic Kampong Glam area. All of these monuments have been gazetted as national monuments, providing a unique insight to Singapore’s colorful history.

Contact us to see how we can incorporate this into your Incentive program.

Update from Destination Asia Japan

New Geisha Experience in Kanazawa

Following the popularity of our program in Kyoto that allows guests to spend an evening with a geisha, Destination Asia Japan has developed a new geisha dining experience in Kanazawa. Kanazawa is a town in Japan where the traditional ‘old town’ has survived untouched, allowing visitors a glimpse into the historical heart of the country’s heritage. Parts of the old castle town, such as the Nagamachi samurai district and Chaya entertainment districts remain just as they did when first constructed.

Today the geisha culture still flourishes in Kanazawa, and on this special occasion the doors of the Kaikaro Chaya will open exclusively for your clients. Kaikaro is registered as an Important Cultural Property and remains one of the few teahouses (geisha houses) that still operate today. In this wonderful setting guests can enjoy an exquisite Kaiseki meal of Kaga cuisine (local cuisine of Kanazawa) and free flowing drinks with two geisha. The okami (mistress) of the teahouse speaks English and will guide guests through the evening.
