Health Advice For a UK citizen to have medical assistance in Portugal, he or she must produce a European Health Insurance Card (issued in the UK). In case of illness or accident, the citizens must present this card and a passport or identity cards to have access to free or reduced-cost healthcare.
To have medical assistance in Portugal you must contact the local Health Centre. Hospital emergency should only be used in severe situations.
